The Common Cyclist, 1 Bellevue Road (next to The Hope pub), SW17 7EG.

We’re for everyday cyclists.

Commuter bikes. Family bikes. Children's bikes that have seen better days. That's our world. We're a practical, straightforward repair service for the people who live and ride around here.

We’ll try to fix most things but we can only hold so many spares and tools in our little shed so we won’t be able to diagnose faults with electric motors and some high end bike components. If we can’t do it, we’ll let you know.

We keep things simple: tell us what's wrong, we'll tell you what it'll cost and we'll get it done.

What we do.

A black bicycle parked on a paved surface, casting a shadow in the sunlight. The bike's chain guard is present, and the front and rear wheels are visible, with the rear wheel slightly larger. The bike is positioned next to a stone and concrete barrier with rounded stones nearby.

Punctures, brakes, gears, chains, cables and more. We’ll fit mudguards, child seats and assemble bikes delivered in a box.  A full range of everyday fixes and scheduled services. Smaller jobs can be done whilst you relax with a drink at one of the many nearby cafes or pubs. Servicing can also be done on the same day but may require longer depending on requirements.

Repairs & Servicing

Children grow fast. Bring in a bike they've outgrown, and we'll help you find the next one, good bikes stay in use, which is better for families and better for the planet. We keep a small, rotating selection of quality refurbished children's bikes in stock, all checked over, serviced and ready to ride away.

We're an accredited Microscooter repair partner, so whatever's gone wrong, bring it in and we'll take a proper look. From wobbly wheels to broken brakes, worn grips to folding mechanisms that have seen better days — we'll get it sorted and back on the pavement where it belongs.

Microscooter Repairs

  • "My wife’s 25 year-old Pashley bicycle hadn’t been serviced in its entire life. It was rusty, unloved and unrideable when I handed it over to the Common Cyclist. Within three days they had completely restored it and it’s now looking as good as new and rides like a dream. They even replaced the basket! Great value too. I couldn’t recommend them enough."

  • "I used The Common Cyclist. My bike had been rusting away, chained to a lamp post over the winter. It was rideable but it was hard to change gears and they jumped back and forward making riding quite hard. They took it off me to work on it and when it came back, it was completely renewed! They had changed the gear and brake cables, gear indexing and had cleaned the chain. It was like riding a new bike ! And the cost was very reasonable for the amount of work, lovingly done; it’s probably that they have low overheads - there’s no shop . Find them in a kiosk next to the Hope pub. Superb service."

  • "Can’t say how happy I was with the fantastic, friendly service. My gears were expertly indexed and worked like a dream for my sportive in the Scottish Highlands. I would thoroughly recommend getting your bike serviced at the Common Cyclist."
